+1 for the Witterings.. Closest to Brighton.

Re: Studland - no camping, unless have camper van. Great starting point for
Canoeing / Camping trips around Poole Harbour.

Lastly, Keyhaven and Lymington area, south of New Forest..  Nature reserves,
Castle and Sea.. Or hop onto the passenger ferry for a day trip Yarmouth's
Beaches (and pubs), Isle of Wight.
