Subversion works well for projects which are distributed in a fairly 
predictable way, but darcs is more advanced in many ways -> 
http://www.darcs.net/ . The ways in which it is more advanced may not be 
important to you but they become important in large open source efforts 
for instance. Funnily enough, the way darcs handles committing changes 
when you're offline is very similar to MS Groove. No GUI clients that 
I'm aware of.
