Interestingly, it does. Mine is an OEM version on an IBM Thinkpad T42,
built by our IT support a year or more ago, and then windows updated
on a regular basis.

Sorry, can't do that. Too much client data on this (company) laptop
If there is a simple test I can do to help you, though, I'd be happy to try.
But i spend a lot of time behind proxies and firewalls....
