Yep I'm with you Laura - one of those fire doors took the end of my finger
off when I was about 7. Not a great experience having it sewn on again in
casualty (much screaming from me apparently as they only had local
anesthetics).

Did stop me putting my finger anywhere near a hinge ever again but failed to
stop me from buying a motorbike when I was 16... :)
