Hello
I seem to remember a way of making a downloadable file available
temporarily/once only via a random string/token in php.
We want to make some files (MSIs-installers) available for download to
members of staff. We want to be able to automatically generate and send a
link which does not reveal the true location of the file and not be
available again (after download). A page will be provided which needs to be
authentication and a link will then be available. I'm sure I remember
reading something about this and the file would look like it had a randomly
generated name??
This might not be perfect but it might deter the casual user.
Does this ring a bell to anyone; how it can be done? Any suggestions? I
hope to use php. Any other suggestions?
Jason
