(Talking to myself here...oh well!)

Apparently it's related to having the Desktop Toolbar enabled on the TaskBar
at the bottom of the screen (and using SP2)

Only solution I've found is to turn off the Desktop Toolbar - How annoying!

Subject: [BNM] XP Windows Explorer Annoyance

Hi All,

Has anyone else experienced this on Win XP and found a solution?

In Windows Explorer, after you've been working in it for a while, moving
folders etc...it goes nuts...i.e. There are about 20 folders called Desktop
at the top of the left-hand pane. It seems it "renames" all folders on the
desktop to "Desktop" in explorer - no folder names physically change tho.

Explorer then refuses to properly update folders in the left-hand pane.
I've seen this on quite a few XP installations now (literally all XPs!) and
was wondering if there is a fix? Surely enough people must have experienced
this - has Microsoft got it sorted yet?

Thanks.
Alan
