[BNM] New Apple vs. PC ads

You know, it's not just windows that has this functionality:
On my ubuntu linux system;
* When I plug my usb camera in, it asks me if I want to import my photos from it. No drivers were ever installed.
* When I plugged my Philips webcam in it installed, mounted, and set it up for me with camview (or something). No drivers installed.
* When I put a cd or dvd in, it checks the content and asks me what I want to use to browse it (photo viewer, video player, nautilus etc)
* When I plug new hardware in, before I can even think about downloading some sort of driver for it, it's already mounted under /dev/ and ready to use. No drivers.
Don't get me wrong, I love macs, they're rock solid, OSX is one of the best operating systems I've ever seen, and I used to own a powerbook, but there is very little they can do which is 'special' anymore.
100% hardware compatibility is great, but comes at a price, and that price is too high for me to ditch my pc for. Linux works with... actually, all my hardware. I don't have anything which isn't compatible with it (except an old ATi card which I binned, but that is ATi's fault - another story).
In addition to that, I've never installed a driver on my desktop machine (6 months+ old now), and the only configuration file I've had to touch is /etc/samba/smb.conf to make it join my workgroup. That is almost mac-esque ease of use.
For me, I'd rather have my pc, linux, and and endless array of cheap hardware = an endless array of choice.
Oh and screw windows (which is what apple usually compare their OS to when they say 'PC') - What a mess!
