I found out that my bank could do a credit rating check on the spot when
they 'review'ed me a couple of years ago, so if you want to check it's
not being weird for some reason, it might be worth talking to your bank,
they'll probably hope they can sign you up for a mortgage or something
so will be happy to have you go in to talk. I'm with Lloyds, but I'm
guessing other banks will do the same thing. I was surprised how much
they'd let me borrow as I was running on empty at the time.

Then again, having credit means you might start using it :-)
