[BNM] [OT] Gtalk in Google Mail

Folks,

I've been using the Gtalk embedded in GMail since changing my language
to 'US English' (Hi y'all). Today, I see the following message in the
'Quick Contacts' section on the gmail left-hand 'menu':

"Chat is disabled.
Your network administrator has disabled chat in Google Mail."

Now, I'm sitting behind a corporate firewall and proxy setup, but the
standalone gtalk client is working, and the embedded client worked on
Tuesday. So what gives? Anyone got the same problem, or has my
chatting been curtailled by some firewall/proxy rule?
