Yep, I work from home too and moving into our flat last year we acquired
what we were told was a brand new, never used before phone number. Weirdly,
within two days I got a call from a charmless call centre asking for a Mr.
O'Toole. My name is Millard, and while I thought it might be fun to
masquerade as the errant thesp and slosh meister, I was actually a bit
confused. I've now had about 40 of these things despite telling these people
that I am not he and to please remove me from their list.
Isn't there some kind of law to prevent these kind of infringements, or do
we accept it like the anonymous stuff dropped though our doors?
I also get the occasional call to my mobile from non-English speaking East
Europeans, but I don't mind that so much as they just sound mental.

Now that I am officially dole-scum, I am mostly working from home, and apart
from the eye-wateringly bad daytime tv I passively consume due to my
fiance's tv habit, we've had some cracking what I can only assume to be scam
phonecalls:
Call no. 1 - American robot voice announcing "I have an urgent message for
you, please hold, I have an urgent message for you please hold".
It then hung up. 1471 shows number witheld.
Call no. 2 - Reet northern, slowly enounciated, but definitely a recording
"This is Tony from such and such a company arranging for delivery of your
radio. Please call 07 blah blah blah" (I haven't ordered a radio, nor am I
expecting delivery of one)
The wonders of being at home in the day!
