thanks josh, I too shall wait to be proved wrong but it's the first I have heard of the physical location being a factor.
the .co.uk is currently parked on top of the .com with a 302 in place but is nowhere to be seen in google.co.uk

i doubt that the actual physical location makes any difference at
all... that would just be silly. it would mean very annoying problems
for non-us/uk companies.
but, the tld does make a difference, so you should probably run the
.co.uk as well... and either have a site there specifically for the uk
market or do a htaccess redirect.
of course now i'll just sit here and wait for nick wilsdon to tell me
i'm wrong :)

He changed the main domain on his site to .com from .co.uk and has subsequently lost his google.co.uk listings for the .co.uk domain - I posted about the use of 301 vs 302 with regard to this.

Does the location of the server have an impact on the localisation of listings? The business and the domains are registered to a UK address.
