if you are prepared to go down the road a bit Orsinos 141 Church Road, Hove is always excellent and v friendly/flexible - I love the 70s/80s/mafiosa decor and the food is very good.

  hey everyone!  :)

  i got a friend gonna be coming to brighton last weekend in march to
  celebrate a birthday. they'd like to take a party of six or sevenish out
  to an italian restaurant, saturday evening. somewhere cosy, independent
  yet 'affordable' and somewhere where they'd be happy for them to bring
  their own home-baked birthday cake along.
