[BNM] Getting started with Linux

I have another question though...

When I installed Ubuntu, at one point it started configuring DHCP... the
machine was not plugged in to my router/the web so it skipped that.

If I take my pc with Ubuuntu on and plug it straight into my router - will
it hook up to the web OK/automatically like my other PCs? Next  time I
install Ubuntu - should I have it hooked up to the network/router as I
install?
