[BNM] Dual core woes

Hi Derek,
 
Yeah, I reinstalled XP again after updating the BIOS as, as you said, the HAL is apparently different for supporting multiple processors.
 
That's when I noticed that there were two processors listed in device manager but still only one usage graph in task manager. CPU-Z reports the correct processor (820D), but only one core. I'll try a repair on Monday when I get back into the office. I'm putting together a second machine with the same hardware, so it will be interesting to see if that one exhibits the same problems.

Did you reinstall XP *after* you updated the BIOS? 

It uses a different hardware layer depending upon whether it's 
uniprocessor or SMP. 

If you didn't, try doing a repair from the XP install disc. That can 
swap the hardware support I believe.
