[BNM] Worldpay?

Hi Jaime
Well I would get them to consider the following points:
1) What is their waiting time for funds to be delivered into their account -
Protx and SecPay are next working day, WorldPay can be longer (up to 4 weeks
but depends on your company status and history with them). Maybe moving to
one of the other providers would be advantageous for cash flow?
2) API/Form connections - Protx and SecPay have great direct API connections
available. Most WorldPay connections are form based. Do they want to reduce
the no. of steps in the buying process and implement a direct API
connection?
3) Percentages - how much are they currently paying to WorldPay? What can
they get offered from the other providers? You often have to do some
investigation for them based on the bank account they hold - some favour
different providers. If they have proven (good) sales and low charge backs,
ring up the gateway providers and talk to them - they want your business!
If they are using WorldPay to settle the payment for them, would it be
cheaper to get a merchant account with their bank and do it that way? If you
can save them 1 or 3% per transaction that really adds up over time and can
justify the move.
International transactions are tricky - we find that here selling to Russia,
China and the US! Anti-fraud protection in Protx is pretty useless for these
clients and we're now looking at more international providers outside the
usual UK selection. Only problem with that is you have real trouble with
UK-specific cards such as Switch - but their move to Maestro should help
with this (I hope - I'll let you know!)

Subject: [BNM] Worldpay?
Hi All
I have a client who's been using Worldpay for over a year, very
successfully. However, they're wondering generally whether they are
the 'best' merchant to use. I think this is prompted by a move into
more international sales (currently at about 15%).
My only other experience is with SecPay and of course PayPal, so any
comments or tips welcomed, thanks.
Jamie
