At least, I have sata2 drives on sata1 cards and they work just fine.

My motherboard supports SATA 1 drives.  If I was to buy a SATA 2 drive,
would my motherboard be able to make use of it at the lower interface
speed
of SATA 1?  Is that how it works?  Is it backwardly compatible in the

way that IDE drives are?  I assume all the cables are the same for SATA
1
and 2?
