I don't know why the script isn't working, but the idea is sound. We use
it to prevent users from choosing the "recover deleted items" menu.
THeres a list of the menu ids on the web somewhere.

Subject: [BNM] Locking down Outlook 2003
I need to lock down the "tools" - "options" menu on Outlook 2003.
According to this article [1] you can use a VBA script to tell you what
each
objects control ID is. I can get it to run in Word and Excel but in
Outlook
it won't run telling me that the script is invalid. Any ideas why VBA in
outlook would be different from the rest of the office apps? Or indeed
how I
can get the control ID that I need?
