BE have made use of 'Local Loop Unbundling' which means they can control the
wiring from the exchange to your premises. Traditionally this was a BT-only
affair. I contacted Easynet about this who said they would lay a line from
the Kemptown exchange to our office. But the monthly cost of the service
was pretty high. Realistically you're not going to see anything like 24mb
downstream. We're 4 miles form the Kemptown exchange and Easynet would only
promise us 2mb down.
