Ah, but with a DI box you have a ground lift switch. And get a 2 channel DI.
And they are virtually free thanks to the modern day super-exploitation that
is the Chinese economy. And what's wrong with doing a bit of soldering?
Can't beat it on a cold Friday afternoon.

point... mono also usually I think... Also, on the subject [kinda] If ground
noise is a problem, unplug the thing and go with battery for the duration of
the record - typical problem on Dells & Sonys...
