[BNM] audio editing software

Hi BNM'ers

I have recently done some presentations using Adobe Connect [
http://www.adobe.com/products/connect/] but not used the screen sharing so
it's just an audio format presentation.  What i would like to do is record
the streamed audio from the presentation, edit it and create a podcast?  Can
anyone recommend some good software to do this with - when you Google you
get so many results that a recommendation would really help.
