So we got our new offices a couple of weeks ago. We wanted a simple
phone system without the hassle of a PBX etc; BT's Featureline system
looked good - all run via the exchange using a normal handset.

We wanted broadband too, so I specifically asked "Is Featureline
compatible with third-party ADSL?"

"Oh yes"

So I ordered two lines with a shared number.

Bet you can guess what happens next...

Featureline *is* compatible with ADSL, but only if you have a single
line. The only real reason to have Featureline is so you can share a
number amongst multiple lines, so when they say "compatible" what they
mean is "technically compatible, but not really for any practical
usage".

I've just phoned the 152 complaints number and spoken to a very
helpful man, who's going to get the local business unit to call me
back. I'm aiming for a free installation of a third line (is that a
pig flying over there?)
