Hello,
Been messing with creating an MSI, using Wise, for Firefox and have just
come across this:
<https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2553/>
Firefox 1.5 CCK (Client Customization Kit) Wizard

Basically you can use this to create a single FF extension (XPI) with all
your bookmarks, settings (e.g. autoupdate off) search plugins and other
extensions (Flash??). It looks like it gets rid of problems I'm having with
the default profile. I'm hoping it does!

Having trouble getting both work bookmarks and the default settings
(e.g. home page) to stay. If I delete the profile then the bookmarks stay
but all the defaults (update off, check for default browser off) all
disappear.

Anyway it looks like I can run wise MSI thing to snapshot:
Install Firefox
Add CCK XPI (including useful stuff)
Delete profile -need to experiment with this bit.

I think this will create a new profile with my settings for a new user;
which would be useful. Also I can change the name of the browser from
Mozilla Firefox to something else (my Firefox).

Just thought it might be useful if you're up to similar.

Also has anyone got another way of ensuring a clean (with my bookmarks and
default/lockdown/no update type) profile is used for a new user with
limited rights to an XP PC. The default bookmarks appear to be in:
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults

while the user profile is at:
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application
Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

It looks like this is where FF prefs/settings for a user are kept. How can
I (if CCK doesn't work) create a new profile for an as-yet-unknown user to
the machine (Default user?).

Hope it's useful to you too.
Jason
