We never used car seats for flights. Stow the car seat/buggy, and just
hold her/chuck her in the free seat

Subject: [BNM] [OT] flying with a baby - what car seat?

Hi all,

The wife and baby are flying back to the states in a couple of months
and we
seem to be getting nowhere in regards to which car seat the arline will
accept for the baby to sit in.

As it's a long flight we bought the baby her own seat (she will be about
9
months old when flying) and so we need to put her in a car seat. The
arline
is Delta. So far all we can gleam from them is that the car seat must be
FAA
approved. Now that's not really helpful considering the FAA don't
approve
car seats in the UK.

We know the seat must be one that will work with a lap belt only but
every
time we call someone at Delta they give us a different story.

Has anyone actually flown with a baby and had a car seat for them? I
think
on Saturday I am going to have to go and chain myself to the Delta desk
at
Gatwick until someone there can give me an answer.

First person to come up with a conclusive answer gets a cheap bottle of
plonk send 1st class post to them :)

cheers
