Not sure about camping but we stayed at a B&B in St Austell to visit the 
Eden project. There's a few campsites here; there was a bus from St Austell 
to Eden project. You could also hire bikes somewhere in St Austell (I 
think) to cycle to the eden project.

If the weather holds (and even if it doesn't) Cornwall is just beautiful. 
I'm no big gardener and I'm not into flowers and stuff but the lost gardens 
of heligan (spelling?) was also great. The overgrown jungle bit was lovely- 
big leaves and stuff.

but you want camping so forget that.

There's a big campsite near perranporth beach which I used to go to as a 
kid; it's still there but I don't know about fires. It felt more like a 
carpark than a campsite.
