Hello,

The sports complex that is planned for the King Alfred Center is budgeted at
30 million according to this recent article.

Why not spend this 30 million that the council seems to have availible by
building an already designed facility without having to fund it by building
privately owned tower blocks. The space not occupied by the tower blocks
could be nicely landscaped, a few trees, places to sit looking out at the
sea, a nice little cafe with lots of glass so you can go there in the
winter, maybe a paddling pool out front for the kids in the summer. That
kind of thing. You could still have Mr.G design it, but make it a wholly
public place to be. How easy would that be! Slaps on the back all round and
home in time for tea.

cheers,
Charles Crammond
